How to Book your New Mexico Hunter Education Course

Once you have successfully completed your online hunter safety course you must attend a single instructor-led Hunter Education Course with the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish in order to complete your certification. The Hunter Education Course tests each student on his or her ability to handle firearms safely and must pass a written examination.

You are advised to pre-schedule the Hunter Education Course prior to completing the online course to assure availability in your area. To locate and sign up for a Hunter Education Course in your area, go to the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish website at www.wildlife.state.nm.us. You must bring a copy of your Field Day Voucher to your scheduled Hunter Education Course to be admitted to the course.

In order to complete the hunter education requirements for New Mexico, you must pass both the online portion AND Hunter Education Course.
