Finalize your Hunter Education Training

Students who are 17 years of age and under

Once you have completed the online portion of your hunter safety course you must attend the 6-8 hour Classroom Session in order to finalize training, pass your final written exam, and get your Virginia Hunter Safety Education Card.

The 6-8 hour course will consist of a number of different hands-on activities and a written final exam. The class is conducted by a VA DGIF-certified hunter education instructor.

To locate and sign up for a Classroom Session in your area, go to the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries website at www.dgif.virginia.gov.

Students who are 18 years of age and older

Once you have successful completed the 18+ Virginia Online Only Hunter Safety Course, you will be able to purchase your hunting license online from the state.
