How to Book your Oregon Hunter Safety Field Day (Ages 17 and Under)

Once you have completed the online portion of your hunter safety course you must attend the Hunter Safety Field Day in order to finalize training, pass your final written exam, and get your Oregon Hunter Safety Education Certificate.

The Field day will consist of a number of different hands-on activities and a written final exam. The class is conducted by an ODFW-certified hunter education instructor.

To locate and sign up for a Field Day in your area, go to the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife website at www.dfw.state.or.us. You will not be admitted to the Field Day without a valid Field Day Voucher.

In order to obtain the Oregon Hunter Education Certificate, you must pass both the online AND Classroom portions of the Hunter Safety Course.

Online-Only Option (Ages 18 and Older; Must be a Resident of Oregon)

This option is available for those students who are 18+ in age and are residents of Oregon. Students will only need to take the online-only course to get certified. Once you have passed the course, you will be able to purchase your hunting licenses online through the ORFW website. You will also be issued your permanent card by the state.
