Camp Five Outfitters

2014 – San Miguel, California

Student: Jessi Padilla, Thief River Falls, Minnesota
Instructor: Brian Krantz, Argyle, Minnesota

We landed Friday afternoon at San Francisco International airport and headed south to Camp 5 Outfitters on the central coast of California. On our way down, we met up with Capt. Roy Griffith from California Fish and Wildlife who greeted both Jessi and Brian and welcomed them to the host state. We got our licences and were ready to hunt.

Two full days of turkey hunting with Eva Shockey proved successful. Jessi and Brian both took nice Rio Grande Toms from the fantastic hunting grounds that Camp 5 Outfitters has to offer.

2014 – Ontario, Canada

Student: Brody MacDonald, Prince Edward Island, Canada
Instructor: Gerald MacDougall, Prince Edward Island, Canada

This was's first ever Canadian Dream Hunt and we are happy to report it was a great success!

The lucky winners were from Prince Edward Island and they were invited to come to Ontario for a spring turkey hunt. They also got the opportunity to shoot some sporting clays and do some early season fishing.

Hosted by Taylor Wright from The Canadian Tradition, we had 3 fun filled days of hunting Eastern Wild Turkeys! This was a great hunt for both winners as Prince Edward Island does not have a wild turkey population. Even better was that they both tagged out and went home with some great memories!

Student: Jarid Hoyt, Sanford, Michigan
Instructor: Marilyn Garrison, Bay County Conservation and Gun Club

The first annual Jim Shockey Dream Hunt was a huge success! Our winners, Jarid and Marilyn from Michigan, travelled to Northern Saskatchewan in search of monster whitetails. And they didn't come home empty handed.

After putting in their time in the blind, Jarid (a graduate) and Marilyn (his field day instructor) were rewarded with two great whitetail trophies. Then, before making the journey home, they met up with Jim Shockey and his daughter Eva for a great day of pheasant hunting.
